Historical Timeline

Desser Aerospace, originally called Desser Tire & Rubber Company and focused on rubber scrap recovery and distribution, was founded in 1920. Over the succeeding 100 years, the company has expanded organically and through acquisitions, adding valuable capabilities and extending our geographic reach to better serve our customers. Today, Desser Aerospace is a market leader for aftermarket aerospace parts distribution, Component MRO Services, and DER repair alternative products.

  • july

    Acquired by VSE Aviation, a global distributor of OEM turbine engine parts, avionics and actuation components and services as well as MRO services on engines, components, accessories and related items, oxygen systems and wheels & brakes

2019
  • Rebranded as Desser Aerospace, highlighting the company’s platform of diverse businesses and expansive product and service offering

2018
  • Acquired AOG Aviation Spares, a DER repair business, and Seginus, a designer and manufacturer of PMA parts

2017
  • Acquired Rotable Repairs, a UK-based MRO services provider principally aircraft wheel and brake focused

2015
  • Acquired UK-based Watts Aviation to expand geographical reach and distribution capabilities

  • Added a sanctioned Parker/Stratoflex FAA/TSO hose production facility to its footprint in Montebello, CA., to support military and commercial aircraft customers

  • Graham Partners acquired Desser from 3rd generation family-owner

2011
  • Dunlop appointed Desser as a distributor, broadening Desser’s distribution reach

2002
  • Cee Bailey’s added sewn products to support U.S. government prime contractors and business/corporate aircraft

1999
  • Acquired Cee Bailey’s Aircraft Plastics, expanding product offerings to include aircraft and helicopter PMA windows and windshields

1996
  • Acquired Aero Wheel & Brake, an FAA repair station, to become a one-stop shop provider for tires and wheel services

1990
  • Formed a joint venture with several other U.S.-based aircraft tire and retreading companies providing regionally located retreading services

1989
  • Introduced tire retreading capabilities and opened Tennessee warehouse for faster shipping to the Eastern U.S.

1983
  • Steve Chlavin joined Desser to begin the Company’s 3rd generation of family ownership
